Eshop Integration with Greek Banks

When talking about connecting your e-shop with Greek banks, we are referring to some of the four systemic banks in Greece (Eurobank, Piraeus, National Bank, Alpha Bank), but let’s take it from the beginning.

You’ve decided to create an e-shop, conducted market research on the products, facilities, and now it’s time to figure out where you will sell, how you will sell, and what you will charge. At Reweb, we help make this process a bit easier.

First, let’s clarify the following two concepts: Shipping, Payment Methods.

Shipping refers to any extra charges added to the total order price to deliver it to its destination. Typically, there are shipping zones, e.g., within Attica, outside Attica. You will determine these after consulting with a shipping company, e.g., ELTA, Speedex.

Payment Methods are the ways customers choose to pay for their orders, with the most common being bank transfer, cash on delivery, and payment by credit/debit card.

Payment with credit/debit card

In order to enable payment with a credit/debit card, which is not only a necessity in today’s world but also a requirement to join major platforms like Skroutz.gr and Bestprice.gr, the business owner must first complete the necessary steps with the bank. This includes submitting an application for collaboration with the bank, which outlines the technical details of the online store. Afterward, the installation of an add-on is carried out, allowing the purchase of products via credit/debit card, with settings and test purchases being made in the secure environment of the bank. Once the test trials are completed, the e-shop is successfully connected with one of the aforementioned banks.

It is important to note that, regardless of which bank you choose to collaborate with, you can accept payments from all card types.
